Privacy Policy

This page is a plain-language policy; have it reviewed by counsel before relying on it.

PlumbingCosts.ca is an independent cost-information site. We're not a plumbing company. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site or ask us for quotes, and what we do with it. It's written to line up with Canada's PIPEDA.

What We Collect

• What you put in the quote form: your name, email and/or phone, city, the service you need, postal code (if you give it), timing, and any notes. Only the name and one contact method are required.
• Usage analytics: pages viewed, rough region, referrer, and how visitors move around the page, through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. We use it in aggregate to see which guides are useful; it isn't tied to your name.
• Email you send us — we keep it so we can reply and, where relevant, improve our published price ranges.

Why We Collect It

One reason: to connect you with local plumbing contractors who can quote your job. The analytics tell us which guides are useful so we can make the site better. We don't build advertising profiles.

Who We Share It With

When you submit the quote form, we share that request — your contact details and job information — with local plumbing contractors so they can get back to you with a quote. That is the point of the form, and it's the only routine sharing we do.

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or advertisers, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the site from fraud or abuse.

How Long We Keep It

We keep quote requests only as long as needed to connect you with contractors and handle follow-ups — and no longer than is reasonable for that purpose. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.

Your Choices

You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email plumbcostsca [at] proton.me and we'll take care of it. If a contractor keeps contacting you after you've asked them to stop, tell us and we'll follow up on our end too.

Cookies

We keep cookies to a minimum. Our analytics tools set first-party cookies to tell repeat visits apart; we don't set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes to how we handle your information will be called out on the page.
